No matter how far technology goes and no matter how robot-ified our lives become (I’m looking at you, ChatGPT), inspiring content will always matter.
My writing approach is built on three pillars:
- Original. Your content should be your voice, your vibe, and totally your own.
- Accurate. Fact-checked and proofed. No exceptions. Your brand credibility relies on it. Plus, I’m persnickety about punctuation.
- Appropriate. Well-toned isn’t just for biceps. Copy should be tailored to speak to your identified target audience.
These may seem like table stakes, but they’re surprisingly rare in practice. Original, credible, and targeted writing enhances your reputation, creates a loyal readership, increases word-of-mouth referrals (the best kind!), and encourages action.
There’s an additional pillar reserved for the brands willing to bring it:
- Feisty. Moxie flexes in different ways for different companies, but copy that booms requires stepping outside of the comfort zone in some way.
