By the time you finish reading this sentence, a child with a life-threatening cleft condition is born. Cleft conditions are far more than an aesthetic concern. Cleft affects the whole child — their health, their livelihood, their families, their communities, and, ultimately, the world.
Operation Smile is building a world where treating a child with a cleft condition builds a path to global health equity. Its volunteers help communities build self-sustaining health systems, helping close the medical care gap and bringing safe, high-quality surgery and treatment to more people around the world.
As a non-profit, Operation Smile relies on donations to achieve its vision. And to do that, the existing website needed a complete overhaul. I defined and executed an end-to-end content strategy to complement the digital strategy and site design.
